Win planning permission

The site had remained undeveloped for nearly 30 years although many applications had been submitted previously. See how a little bit of magic turned a wasteland into a £60 million flagship development.

There's no other word to describe the latest computer art technology, than magical. With a starting point of no more than an empty plot of land, it's possible to create compelling imagery that brings a project to life in the minds of planners, developers, marketers, businesses and the general public. 

Scarborough Developments, one of the joint partners in a landmark office-led mixed-use scheme in Bournemouth, first appointed HMA 3D to work on various still images for use at the initial public consultation programme which took place in August 2005. The initial brief was to work with their Architects, Planning Consultants and Print Designers to produce a number of images showing the overall scheme.

During May 2006 we further updated the images to reflect design changes that had taken place before being submitted to a June planning committee. We also produced further images of the scheme following requests from the planners. The culmination of the process involved creating an animation of the scheme in order to give the planners a better understanding of the development.

Although a number of previous proposals for the site had failed to gain permission and the site had remained undeveloped Rokscar secured their approval in July 2006 allowing them to create a flagship mixed use scheme.

With a value of more than £60m the development comprises 120,000 sq ft of office space, 188 apartments and 7,500 sq ft of retail and leisure space. There will also be a 275 space car park.
